14K Gold & Platinum Bonded Silver Cuban Links
Our Cuban link chains are renowned as the best in the world and feature the tightest links to ensure a bold, heavy feel that commands attention. Wearing one of our chains is not just a fashion statement; it’s an experience that will impress your friends and elevate your status.
Choosing the perfect Cuban link chain:
-
Material: Decide between gold or silver. Gold offers a classic look, while silver can be more contemporary.
-
Length: Common lengths range from 18 to 30 inches. Shorter chains (18-22 inches) sit higher on the neck, ideal for a more subtle look, while longer chains (24-30 inches) create a bolder statement.
-
Thickness: Cuban link chains come in various thicknesses, typically measured in millimeters. Thicker chains make a strong statement, while thinner ones offer a more delicate look. Choose based on your personal style and how you want to be perceived.
-
Weight: Heavier chains often feel more luxurious and substantial. Consider your comfort level—if you prefer something that feels solid and bold, go for a heavier option.
-
Occasion: Consider where you plan to wear the chain. For daily wear, a versatile and slightly lighter chain may be best, while for special occasions, a thicker, more luxurious option could be ideal.
By keeping these factors in mind, you can choose a Cuban link chain that not only fits your style but also enhances your overall look and confidence.
Gold and Platinum Bonding:
Our Bonding technique results in the thickest layer of 14Kt Gold or Platinum (200 to 250 Microns) and comes with a 1 Year Guarantee but you can expect years of normal wear with the same great look.
What's the difference: (Plating Vs Bonding)
Gold Plating and Gold Bonding are both processes used to apply gold or Platinum to the surface of a metal, but they differ significantly in terms of technique, durability, and appearance. Here's an overview of the key differences:
Gold Plating
- Process: Plating involves a thin layer of gold being applied to the surface of another metal (usually through an electroplating process, where the object is immersed in a salt solution and an electric current is used to deposit the gold or platinum).
- Thickness: The layer is typically very thin, ranging from a few microns (0.175 microns to 2.5 microns) thick.
- Durability: Plating is not as durable as other methods and may wear off over time, especially with frequent use or exposure to harsh conditions. It’s often considered a decorative layer rather than a long-lasting one.
- Cost: Plating is less expensive than other applications due to the thin layer of gold or platinum used.
- Appearance: It gives the jewelry a golden or mirror like appearance, but the underlying metal may still be visible if the plating wears off.
Gold Bonding
- Process: Bonding is a more durable process where a thicker layer of gold or platinum is bonded to a base metal using heat and pressure. The gold layer is mechanically fused to the underlying metal, which makes it more durable than gold plating.
- Thickness: The layer is much thicker than in plating, typically at least 5% of the total weight of the item. It’s usually around 50 to 100 times thicker than gold plating.
- Durability: Bonding is far more durable and resistant to tarnishing and wear compared to plating. It can last for many years with proper care.
- Cost: Bonding is generally more expensive than plating, as it uses more gold or platinum and involves a more intensive process.
- Appearance: The jewelry appears to be solid gold or platinum because the layer is significantly thicker and more durable.
Sleek Locks:
Besides the great look, a Sleek Lock will allow you to add a charm with a bale that fits perfectly. Want to step it up a notch? Consider a Sleek Lock with Moissanite for Silver or Diamonds for Gold.
